Information about Direct Access to Physical Therapy Services

What is Direct Access?
Direct Access to physical therapy is your ability to be evaluated and treated by a licensed Physical Therapist without first seeing your Physician for a prescription.  The recent change in California’s legislation now allows health care consumers the same choices for their care as consumers in others states.

  • The patient must be referred to a licensed health care provider (MD, DPM, and DDS) for a diagnosis if the Physical Therapy care will exceed 45 days or 12 visits, whichever comes first.

If your condition requires care beyond the scope of a physical therapist we are trained to refer you to the appropriate health care provider.

We continue to strive to be the source of health and wellness for the community.
